On December 24th, 2011, Hakim 'Ali, a board member of Reconstruction Inc., and Host on "Living Islam" WURD900 AM, had 5 youth guests on his program.

Those who participated in this broadcast were: Wei, Renyu, Xu Lin, Chaurne Poole and Christian Poole. These young people who represented two distinct different communities (i.e. The Asian American United Youth Group and L.E.A.D.-The youth component of Reconstruction Inc), were very informative about the various meetings that they were involved in, and what was the motivation for having such meetings and gatherings.

The one profound point they raised was: "By meeting with each other one becomes more knowledgeable of each other, which in turn leads to more respect of each other and their culture". They addressed some of the past conflicts that had occurred, and believed that the actions they are taking will go a long way in resolving the existing indifference that is displayed when people encounter different cultures.

This was a very enlightening and very progressive representation of "The Youth" in our communities, and their efforts to take on the responsibilities that we have as Human Beings. Their presentation was very movitating, and their sincerity became very obvious.

I applaud them for their courage and mission, and wish them success as they move forward with this endeavor.
